Subject: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: MBSLynne Date: 23 Oct 04 - 07:01 AM Having just somehow broken my own rule of not even reading the political threads and actually having contributed to one I realised that I must have opened it in desperation because most of the BS threads at the moment seem to be about politics. Consequently, I thought I'd start one without politics. Sex, religion and politics are supposed to be the three banned subjects for discussion at dinners. I don't talk politics usually because people get so worked up about it and often religion is the same, though sometimes more interesting, especially among tolerant people. Sex, however, I see nothing against talking about, so, who's going to start the conversation??? Love Lynne |

Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 23 Oct 04 - 07:36 AM Whatb else is there to talk about? Especially if you add sport to that list, which some pubs do. There's the weather, but even that gets political now, what with global warming and that. I suppose you could talk about books and so forth, but what are the books and so forth going to be about? I suppose there's music, so long as you don't include songs. |

Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: Bill D Date: 23 Oct 04 - 07:02 PM big difference between "talking about sex" and 'talking sexy', and many folks are not real comfy with either. Sex is one of those subjects where many worry about their image if they say the wrong thing. I spent 3 years working in an "adult" book store and got used to images, language, gadgets, opinions, fetishes...and just generally hearing folks ask, tell and worry about their sex lives, lack thereof, and wish lists.....such variety we have in humans! What I learned is that sex is a lot like music....some folks like to create tunes & lyrics, some like only following or listening to what has already been done, some do well in harmonies with others while others MUST direct and/or choose the tune. Likewise, some like 'visuals'(live or pictures) while others like stories and imagination with the images only in their heads. ....and one of the most important things I learned is how awkward it is for many folks to compare and sort out these varied approaches when they are trying to form relationships, because there has been, up to now, few avenues for 'standard' comparison of views and attitudes, other than gossip in peer groups which leads to SUCH bad information sometimes!...but in the last few years, the internet/WWW has begun to change all that....people are finding like minded souls and developing their 'interests' BEFORE they meet others. This can be good AND bad, but at least opportunities are widening... wow...I do go on, hmmm? |
Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: Blissfully Ignorant Date: 23 Oct 04 - 09:14 PM What what what? Why would one want to talk about sex at the dinner table, when one can have sex on the dinner table? Deary me, what happended to inventiveness? I always try my hardest to start some healthy debates at the dinner table, especially at Christmas when everyone's a bit tipsy. Problem is, my family are all athiests, and what's more they're all liberal commie left-wing surrender monkeys. I usually resort to playing Devil's advocate and saying something like 'Isn't George Bush simply darling?'. That works. *tongue firmly placed in cheek* |

Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: frogprince Date: 25 Oct 04 - 08:31 PM Given the premise of this thread, I can't see that anyone has a real complaint if Martin happens to talk "dirty"; no one complained when I did. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: Rustic Rebel Date: 25 Oct 04 - 09:21 PM The term female ejaculation, originated by Sevely and Bennett (1975) and Belzer (1981), refers to the orgasmic expulsion which is at least partially homologous to male ejaculation, rather than any other sort of expulsion of liquid which might occur at the time of a woman's orgasm, such as urine or vaginal secretions (Addiego et al., 1981). Since then, controversy has surrounded this topic as to where female ejaculate would come from, whether it truly is of the same consistency as seminal fluid in men, or whether women are merely urinating at the experience of an intense orgasm. Perry and Whipple's (1981) study of pelvic muscle strength in relation to females who claimed to be ejaculators hypothesized the women who ejaculated upon orgasm have stronger pelvic muscle contractions under voluntary control than women who do not. This study also raised questions as to whether women can only have clitoral or vaginal orgasms by noting that women who ejaculated not only had stronger pubococcygeal muscle contractions, but also had stronger uterine contractions than non-ejaculators. Yes, I belive. Rustic |
Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: Bill D Date: 25 Oct 04 - 09:44 PM info on Skene's glands which may be the source of clear ejaculate. (why use a library, when you have Mudcat!) and I'll bet Martin HAS M'd since he was a teenager...*grin* |
Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: Peace Date: 26 Oct 04 - 12:22 AM I recall a psychiatrist friend of mine who would ask patients--in the course of getting to the difficulties they were undergoing--if they ever M'd. Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: chris nightbird childs Date: 26 Oct 04 - 12:26 AM I don't know of your experience Rustic Rebel, but I don't think it's urine. And to my experience the female org doesn't sound like "Eeeek!" You're so silly Lynne... |
Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: Peace Date: 26 Oct 04 - 01:24 AM "And to my experience the female org doesn't sound like "Eeeek!" IMHO, this remark belongs on Joe Offer's rodent thread. Female org: No, it doesn't sound like Eeeek! Not if it's greased properly. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: MBSLynne Date: 26 Oct 04 - 06:27 AM I should say it depended on the female, so unless you have an encyclopedic experience of women and their orgasms, I shouldn't judge! And I agree.....leave Martin alone! He didn't say anything that could be taken exception to in the context of this thread, certainly not by me and I started it so nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah! Some people have a go at Martin just because he IS Martin, which doesn't seem fair to me. Rustic, I find that very interesting...I shall have to research it further..... It's always supposed to be brave to admit that one is depressed, but it doesn't feel brave, it feels oddly like bragging. I'm depressed out of my fucking skull. I saw some odd sexual phenomenae before I read about them, like female ejaculation, but it doesn't seem to happen a lot, or matter much. Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: Shanghaiceltic Date: 02 Nov 04 - 11:08 PM In public the Chinese are pretty subdued about talking about sex, as there is no real religion here that is out and the politics is how they despise their leaders in Beijing for corruption. But in private the Chinese girls are always comparing and discussing sex. Over here still considered a taboo subject in public. When Jade and I were in Germany last year on a holiday we were in Munich and she noticed a sex shop. Bit like trying to stop a dog chasing a cat, she was in before I could blink. In the end it was me being embarassed as she held up various sizes of large plastic penii and vibrators and in a loud happy voice pointing out they were all made in China and then asking why they could not get the big versions in China. Things are on the change here though regarding sex. Politics will always be taboo unless you are sure the person you are talking to is not an informer. |

Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: robomatic Date: 04 Nov 04 - 08:26 AM As I'm writing this, a sexy song is playing on my system, that ol' standard "I Touch Myself" by the DiVinyls. I'm gonna put it on my 'Road Trip' CD. Yeah, this is dangerously close to music for a BS thread, but maybe someone's done it already, songs with frank sexual innuendo, none of this "Strangers In The Night" runaround. But I've always felt pretty free to rant about sex and politics in my local areas. It's insulting someone's music or food proclivities that I've learned to be careful about. I remember salivating over a T-Shirt that said "I Hate All Your Favorite Music" but in the end it was too risque and I settled on "The Four Corn Dogs of the Apocalypse". love to you, too |

Subject: RE: BS: Sex, religion and politics From: freda underhill Date: 07 Nov 04 - 08:29 AM A politician pulls up at the medical clinic, leaving his "personal assistant" in the car, and races inside. "We're leaving on vacation, and my secretary says I need to be vasectomised immediately!" The doctor is surprised, but makes the guy happy. Snip, snip, and it's done. So the guy shuffles back to the car and gingerly lowers himself back into the driver's seat. "So, are you vaccinated, then?" asks his secretary. |
