Dear all,
Do any of you know the words to a song called 'One evening in Summer'. I've found mentions of it on the mudcat in old threads, but not the actual words.

I've heard the Wilsons sing it a few times and i'd really love to learn it.

Sorry I can't help with the words Chris, just like to add that it is a terrific song. I'm sure that someone out there knows it, after all Mudcat is the fount of ALL knowledge folky.

It's called 'On an Evening in Summer', I believe, and is by excellent songwriter Graeme Miles. It's on The Wilsons' LP 'Horumarye', along with lots of Graeme's other songs. They really should re-release that on CD.

Get hold of Graemes book, Songscapes, I think its in there. (Worth it as most of his songs are in there and the photographs by Robin Dale are stunning.)

Sorry I've only just looked at this thread - I'd assumed it was for a different song. Here it is from one of my song folders(looking at which made me realise how much I'd altered it to the version I sing these days!)

Thanks so much. It;s not quite the words I remember from the fine singing of Glynn West in Norfolk. It't' a brulliant start though, Penn
