Chord Req: Making Up the Miles (Kieran Halpin)

Hi Everyone.
I've persuaded a group of people at my college to do a 'folkie' song on our music performance course, trouble now is i need to take everything in & i have no idea what the chords are. The songs im looking at doing are -
1. 'Making up the miles' from Kierans album 'Back smiling again',
2. 'Quivering' from MundyTurners album 'Crooked house'
3. 'Leaving Season' from MundyTurners album 'Crooked house'
4. 'William Jolly' from MundyTurners album 'Wholly road'
5. 'Naked' from MundyTurners album 'Wholly road'
   I would be most greatful for help with any of these. Thanks.

Why not do it the traditional way and learn the songs by ear? I presume you cant get Kieran or MT to turn up and teach them to you so take in the recordings and learn from them. Explain to your tutor that it is an example of how traditional songs and tunes were passed from place to place and generation to generation......i.e. the "Oral" tradition.........You never know, you might get away with it!! :-)

My tutor isn't bothered how we learn it. at the end of the day if it sounds good it sounds good if it doesn't it doesn't. Problem is i'm a singer not a guitar/piano etc player. I dont even know where to begin, hence my asking for help. Thanks for the suggestion Bassic but i'm afraid it is of no use. Thanks anyway.

I don't know an awful lot about Mundy Turner, but Kieran Halpin tends to stick to basic chords with the top E string tuned to a D, if you can find a guitar player to help you out, it shouldn't take much figuring, unfortunately, I don't know that particular Kieran song! So I can't help any more than that.

Kieran ahs a web site, don't know whats on it, haven't checked, but if you go into your search engine type in Kieran Halpin you should be able to find it

Try playing the D chord at the end of each verse as a C shape on the 3rd fret. Good luck
