Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: YorkshireYankee Date: 19 May 05 - 10:12 PM Looking forward to seeing everyone -- and soon! BTW, I'll be bringing along a case of Song Links 2 CDs, so anyone interested in obtaining them at the Mudcatters' special price (and not having to pay an extra £1.75 for S&H from Fellside) should come see me... Will also be bringing some yummy genuine American chocolate chip cookies (made by a genuine American, of course!) for the raffle... |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Geoff the Duck Date: 19 May 05 - 06:06 PM I've just been over to the Black Dog setting up the caravan. The Refurbs are sorted so there is more room for us in the pub. The alfresco Guzunder is in line for radical changes, but they haven't happened yet. We wil probably be there shortly after half five. See you all soon! Quack!! GtD. |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Catherine Jayne Date: 19 May 05 - 12:39 PM Sorry Pixie....it looks as though he has already got his grubby paws on the tub of woad...I will try to return him to you in a good condition, it might be a bit difficult but we will try! |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Catherine Jayne Date: 19 May 05 - 03:22 AM Might be a good idea Liz although I think he will keep Limpit company on the journey. Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Geoff the Duck Date: 18 May 05 - 05:52 PM Each year what happens has been slightly diferent, depending on the venue and who turns up. Friday night has tended to be everyone together, although the new layout of the pub may make people spread out further. There has usually been ome form of music playing session on the Saturday afternoon and another on the evening. Some folks pay a passing visit such as you plan to, so could be at either. There should be music happening and if not you could start it up and others will join in. Quack! GtD. |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Bloke in the Corner Date: 18 May 05 - 02:25 PM I'll be popping over from North Lincs for a bit of a play. When are the best times to come for sessions? |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Leadfingers Date: 18 May 05 - 11:55 AM Sadly the opportunity to be paid has got in the way again so as Samuel Goldwyn was wont to say "Include Me Out" . Work is definately the curse of the drinking classes ! |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 18 May 05 - 11:41 AM Well I thought doing it just before the barbeque would be the best time Liz. Then we can get sorted for singaround in main bar after and session in new bar. |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: GUEST,Liz the Squeak Date: 18 May 05 - 08:49 AM 2 days to go and I'm trying to remember where the tent is...... The Quiz (Never mind the clues, it's all bo££ocks) is under construction..... hopefully we'll be too drunk to remember to do it! LTS |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Raedwulf Date: 12 May 05 - 01:58 PM Not entirely sure which side of the argument you're making a point about, ted. Bloody damn sure this is isn't the thread for it. This is a thread about the Mudcat Yorkshire Gathering. If you want to make some sort of point about a recently enacted piece of legislation, be a decent chap & take it somewhere else, eh? Start your own thread & be shot down in flames by whichever side. Don't hijack this one! |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Paco Rabanne Date: 12 May 05 - 05:24 AM Will there be anywhere to bed down three hunters and a pack of hounds? We intend to hook up with The Selby Hunt and indulge in a spot of fox 'following' |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 11 May 05 - 02:19 PM We have been taking our kids to the gathering since they were tiny tots. The facilities are basic but there is a chance of a portable shower / toilet block being there this year which will be novel. Field is a good size and can't see a problem with just turning up. |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 10 May 05 - 09:41 AM Bring the youngest - there will be other children there ranging in ages from teenagers down and no shortage of entertainment for the little darling. Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: GUEST,Guest Date: 10 May 05 - 07:49 AM This little get together sounds as if could be a cracking do'. I've never been before and very much hoping that we'll be able to get there. Desperately trying to find a babysitter for our youngest. Can we just turn up on the day with my caravan. How big is this field? I assuming that there are no services. |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 09 May 05 - 01:58 PM To clear up any confusion for those who weren't at the gathering last year. The pub will be putting on a barbeque on the Saturday teatime. There will be burgers and other stuff and you pay them for what you have. It was all very good last year and reasonably priced. The pub also do a good selection of meals in the restaurant bit and sandwiches. Tracy has also said she will do breakfasts again this year - hooray! Please bring expandible waist trousers to accomodate the weekends increases. |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Geoff the Duck Date: 07 May 05 - 10:01 AM The Black Dogs are wondering how many bodies they are expecting to provision for - how much beer to order / food to cook etc.. Can people who are intending to attend use this thread to confirm your spaces in the field and how many people you expect to have with you. Although it is a Mudcat Gathering we will welcome any other passing folkies or people who just fancy hovering about for the atmosphere. Mrs.Duck is compiling a list from previous thread postings, but while she is doing that I'll get the ball rolling...... Spaces booked for :- Me, her and "them" - caravan. Quack! Geoff the Duck. |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 07 May 05 - 09:50 AM Just called into the pub on the way home from CatsPhiddle and miccas wedding. The alterations are all just about done and it has made a big difference to the feel of the larger area which now has conventional pub type benches and so feels less like an overflow from the dining room. Should make it much better for having song and music sessions. |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 06 May 05 - 05:39 PM Put Limpit and I down for the lunch please... it made a great end to the weekend. LTS And I claim 190 |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Zany Mouse Date: 06 May 05 - 12:48 PM Arrrggghhh - I've just realised I've double-booked! I can't make the Yorkshire Gathering as I'll be on my way to the Chez Wyndham-Reed in France for a week. Have a great time everyone. Rhiannon |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 06 May 05 - 12:13 PM Only 2 weeks to go now. All the refurbs should be done by next week so we will have some good areas for singing and music sessions. Of course it will be hot by then so we will all be sitting outside and enjoying the sunshine. We are hoping to have the barbeque on Saturday night as last year as it seemed to suit most people but there is also excellent food on offer in the dining area if you want to be posh. Could we have a quick hands up for Sunday lunch jist to give an idea of numbers. As before it would be preferred if we wait until the latter end of lunchtime (around 2pm) to allow for the regular trade to finish. Anyway if you have had the cooked breakfast you won't be ready to eat before then. |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Malc R Date: 30 Apr 05 - 08:06 AM Carol Give us the details of stolen folder, any distinguishing features? We will keep an eye open for it when we are away caravaning. We've only got a 2 berth caravan, but you're welcome to crash out in the awning Malc |
