Subject: RE: Lyr Add: late dave phillips.uk. From: GUEST Date: 31 Oct 04 - 12:53 PM Yes Dave died about 10 years ago. He had a wonderful send off with lots of well known folkies..........Swarb et al in attendance. Ian Campbell led the celebration of Daves life including playing some very old tapes of Dave singing at early Jug of Punch Sessions and I know all this ............'cause I was there......Dave was someone who had been a friend for a couple of years. Subject: RE: Lyr Add: late dave phillips.uk. From: Steve Parkes Date: 25 Nov 04 - 10:38 AM What happened to the song...? Dear old Dave. I recall somebody telling me he never forgave Paul Simon for pinching his Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme -- never mind what Martin Carthy said! I always think of Dave when I hear it, and likewise The Unquiet Grave. |
