I well remember the Jug O Punch (and Harvey Andrews' great voice and songs). But is Dave Phillips another "the late"?

Yes Dave died about 10 years ago. He had a wonderful send off with lots of well known folkies..........Swarb et al in attendance. Ian Campbell led the celebration of Daves life including playing some very old tapes of Dave singing at early Jug of Punch Sessions and I know all this ............'cause I was there......Dave was someone who had been a friend for a couple of years.

What happened to the song...?

Dear old Dave. I recall somebody telling me he never forgave Paul Simon for pinching his Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme -- never mind what Martin Carthy said! I always think of Dave when I hear it, and likewise The Unquiet Grave.

Are there any solo recordings of Dave available?

he used to sing at the star folk club with mick hipkess and friends - sometimes on his own. I expect the lads from drowsy Maggie will have some recordings. maybe mike blair could help. he was with drowsy Maggie for a few years. he's on face book and he has a music shop in ampthill.

I always remember Dave singing "Peggy Gordon". It was the song that first started my interest in Folk Music. Great days in old Brum.
