4.        Advance warning for 2005 gigs

2005 is shaping up well, with performances at St Albans Folk Song Club, The Spotlight Folk Club (St Albans), Lincoln Folk Club, Darlington Folk Club, The Railway Folk Club (Lymm), Northwich Folk Club, Market Rasen Folk Club, Rhyl Folk Club, City Screen (York) and Broadstairs Folk Week all featuring in the "In Concert" tour with more expected to confirm shortly.

The "Pub Crawl" tour dates generally get booked later than the concert venues but new venues in Wakefield and Banbury have already confirmed. We are dropping some venues next year but almost all the 2004 venues will be re-booking.

If you know of a local or favourite venue, folk club or festival, which we ought to be contacting, please let Julie know (email: Julie@JulieEllison.co.uk).

Similarly, if you feel you would like to try your hand at promoting a gig, get in touch.

Best regards

Hi Strollin - yup - got and replied to PM - my PM'ing is a bit patchy at times because not all the machines I use have the cookie - so I sometimes appear as one of these ghost like entities called Guest.

Muppett - looking forward to the Topic (a bit of a home coming for me - the Melborn being a second home and all that). Get yer singing tackle in good fettle - we'll have some of my recording gear plugged in !

"Lyte Flyte" look like a really interesting support.

Julie Ellison will be making a live broadcast on BBC Radio York on Wednesday, 24th November at around 15:40.

We hope this will include an interview and the live performance of one song.

The broadcast will be part of the Jerry Scott Show on 103.7, 104.3 and 95.5fm. I believe there is also a listen feature on their website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/england/radioyork/listen.shtml.

What a year … and what a fantastic way to finish the 2005 tours.

I am only just recovering from Julie's support to John Otway in Belper last night. I think forward rolls while playing guitar are a really great idea, but Julie doesn't seem so keen to copy the idea!

CD sales and mailing list sign ups at the Otway gig more than justified our commitment to taking Julie's particular brand of acoustic music to the widest possible audience. Progress this year has been better than we could have hoped for, and we both want to offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported Julie this year, either by attending one or more of her 75 performances, or helping to make her debut CD such an outstanding success.

Next year we hope that Julie will have over 100 performances in the UK. Festival appearances have already been booked at Broadstairs Folk Week and Reedham Ferry Folk Festival while the number of "In Concert" performances are significantly up on this time next year.

Bookings through to December 2005 can now be viewed at www.JulieEllison.co.uk. We are pushing into some new areas so we hope to see many new faces as well as meeting up with old friends.

Once again, very many thanks to all who played a part in a superb 2005. Here's to a fantastic Christmas and, let us all hope, a more peaceful and progressive New Year.

Best regards
John Robinson
