Hiya, Jim! This looks like fun! Is it mostly dancing, or are there venues for just performers as well?

Allison

Greetings, Allison,
In past years there have been fiddle workshops, whistle workshops, and various singing sessions -- rounds, balkan, gospel, work songs, just about anything traditional or folkie will work. It's like a micro-NEFFA
with food, crafts, performers cd's and all, but on a small scale. Wicked good dancing is the main(e) event, though. It tends to come together at the last minute. If you want to do a singing workshop or performance, get in touch with Lynne Plumb via the site, and I'm sure you will be in.

Jim / MD

Sounds like great fun! Thanks Jim. I'll be in touch with the organizers. MICRO sounds good. NEFFA, while wonderful, can get overwhelming. I've done a concert there every year for the past 15 years or so, and every year the crush of people takes my breath away.
Kathy

p.s. Still planning to get to a Maine dance or two--as soon as the funky knee (name of a new dance tune for middle-aged contradancers?)settles down. Thanks for that info., too! KW

Thanks to Jim's announcement last fall, I'll be doing a concert set at 2:00 p.m. at this festival. Hope to meet some Maine Mudcatters there (Jim, I hope you introduce yourself!) Based on the preliminary grid, the festival sounds like wonderful fun. Unfortunately, a continuing bum knee will keep me from the contras, but I hope to grab a waltz or three, and do some English dancing. Kathy
