Subject: RE: Sun rises again in Beverley From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 23 Dec 04 - 07:36 AM Graham and jo are turning up in the Sun on Friday evening in the hope of playing some stuff - if the pub isn't too noisy and crowded with revellers. I'm going to try and get down for an hour or so (Sidewinder, I could play "I Fought the Law" if that is close enough to "London Calling" for you. R |

Subject: RE: Sun rises again in Beverley From: GUEST,Sidewinder Date: 23 Dec 04 - 04:39 AM Is there a music session on anywhere in Beverley Christmas Eve (Friday) and if so what style i.e folk or anything goes ? I have been a little remiss lately and not kept up with events. Does that Punkie Lad turn up to do London Calling or his mates who are a little more mainstream I guess. I enjoyed their playing a few months back along with several other good turns as I recall. Please put up details ASAP. Merry Christmas One and All. |

Subject: RE: Sun rises again in Beverley From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 03 Dec 04 - 03:42 AM Yes, Tom is very kind and eats hardly any fledgling musicians for breakfast nowadays. Seriously, though, the workshop is intended for people at all levels of competence and confidence (the two aren't necessarily the same) and I hope that everyone feels able to join in and have a go. R |
Subject: RE: Sun rises again in Beverley From: GUEST,Trix Date: 02 Dec 04 - 10:35 PM Really enjoyed the Tuesday session this week, even though I suffered usual nerves playing .Thanks to the lovely Tom for being so kind. |
Subject: RE: Sun rises again in Beverley From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 02 Dec 04 - 03:56 AM The Tuesday session attracted about 15 performers of whom only two of us were also there on Sunday. So, that means that well over 30 people have turned up to play and sing over the two days . Apparently the Sunday was financially the best for the landlord since the pub re-opened and the Tuesday is also significantly more viable since we returned there. Live music in pubs = better atmosphere = more viable pubs R |
