Does anybody know of any folk clubs (singaround) that operate on a regular basis in Oban or close by

Any help would be appreciated.

MGAS is the person in the know here. Mick and I joined her a couple of times when she was staying at Loch Awe and she seems to have sussed out all the (scant) folk music in the area.

Its for Simon Johnson who is a singer songwriter and plays at Market Rasen Folk Club, who is off to Oban on holiday tomorrow.

Yes, G&V left about half an hour ago. He is gigging at St Albans tonight so couldn't stay. Lucky St Albans!

I had a great time at Walesby and only sorry I couldn't stay the course - wretched Lupus!

She used to spend a couple of weeks a year up there and rented a cottage, we used to join her for a few days.

Just saw this thread, the info I found on sessions around Oban is on this thread but was only current to June 03 I'm afraid. Didn't go up this year, although I wanted to as the music & musicians are so good!!

Eric: I've met George a few times, excellent musician! Last year he didn't seem to be very involved in the scene which surprised me, glad he's still getting about!
