Lynne, is your apprentice elephant dressed as an elf the same one I'm expecting I wonder ? Otherwise two elephants on the same sleigh would slow things down a lot with the extra refuelling stops.   I suspect Olive may have turned right instead of left at Greenland but I'm sure once the GPS reboots they'll be with us. The rabbit loves the extra hay in the meantime.

2 days to go here, too & based on past data, there is a 50/50 chance that it will be on time or not.

This is my 3rd Secret Santa & my first pressie was very late (early Feb!! & Santa Giac was getting worried) & last year I started the 'My Pressie has arrived' thread.

eek, look at the time, it's 1.15am & the Post office opens in six & three quarter hours, I'd better get to bed.

Yippeeeeeeeee. A mysterious parcel addressed to Kath Westra appeared today at my post office box in Rockland, Maine, from Her Majesty's Post. No clue by way of a return address as to Santa's identity, only a declaration that it is "printed matter." Could it be a book? A CD? I am awaiting opening until Christmas, but am very excited to know that I've been remembered by my Santa-over-the-pond. Thank you, dear Santa! Kathy

Dear Darling SS...The only reason I've been able to hold off on the wrapped presents is the excelent book your package contained. I am enjoying it very much, just the right kind of reading for picking up, then putting down when the stove needs to be stoked or the dishes, really....finally....have to be done. Have travelled over 3 continents and 3 centuries in the past few days...fascinating. So far, however, I haven't a clue as to who(m) you might be...I am a dunce at this sort of thing...and the suspense is beginning to tell. Will sit down with a cold towel and try to ward off early gratification but feel a sort of....must...open...presents...NOW.... coming over me.

Well, I donno... I got a box in the mail... I opend the box and some stuff is wrapped and some stuff isn't... The stuff that isn't is a couple of Lord Of The Rings "mini-busts"... And a coffee cup... pretty cool!

So... ummm... Santa-whom-I-shall-not-out? Do I have to wait to unwrap the other stuff???

Well, I was ever so good, and not only waited until Yule Morning, but even until After Breakfast to open my Yule packet.

Therein, I found: A little box with a homemade snowman(woman?) ornament nestled inside. A book of local folktales. 2 (count 'em -- two) wonderfully smelling bars of chocolate (one of which is flavored with ginger -- whee!), and a Sampler CD of my Santee's own band -- woo-hoo! (and the CD was packed in what looks suspiciously like a Doctor Who Big Finish Audio jewel case, so I am left thinking perhaps my Santa and I share other tastes in common)

And last, but not least, there was a wee card with my Santee's name, so I could thank her in person::

Thank you, MBSLynne! You're a wonder! And thank you, too to the sweet Jersey cow that brought the package all the way here... no doubt you are the cow that jumped over the moon, since you got it here so quickly! ...have an apple. It's very sweet.

My Santas name was on the label so no rules broken mentioning his name. However as to my extremely devious extra Santa no clues whatsoever. A large cuboid parcel arrived yesterday and in the interest of not being able to wait I opened up the most wondrous string of fairy lights all of which are little yellow rubber ducks. We chose to put them up in our room where the computer also lives. I was a little bemused however as I overheard Geoff singing to himself
"By the light of the little yellow duck..." Is that what you meant by sharing, Liz?? Whoever you are everso secret (I've narrowed it down to about a dozen!)Santa, thank you very much!!!

Oh dear, oh dear. We're getting adjacent to the big lift-off, and so far .............. nothing. Not for me, and not for Carole either. Both our outgoings went out, and one at least has arrived, but no incomings yet. If they're not here by Thursday, we'll miss them - we leave at sparrowfart on Friday - hope the postal services hold them over until we get back mid January. A professionally-labelled and sealed box containing a wondrous array of yet-to-be-discovered and beautifully wrapped presents has somehow survived the rigours of the Elfish Office of the Surreal Kingdom of Belgium and found its way to Moo Towers.

I got a secret parcel too! It was beautifully wrapped but the postman had mangled it a little so I had to open it and check.

I've tried many types of chocolate, even Art Brookes' special Albuquerque Chili Chocolate, but I've never had Guinness enriched chocolate yet!! I look forward to trying it on Christmas day!

We're glad that the person we gave your present to got it into the postal stream properly and that it arrived safely. The box, envelope or can that it was shipped in is but the exterior packaging, and you are perfectly welcome to open it and put the contents under your no-doubt-lovely tree. There are no hints or crass revelations inside. Oh, and I'm not entirely sure, but the possibility does still exist that the city and state of origin are not the same in which we reside.

Still have absolutely no idea who my Dear Secret Santa is though & therein lies the rub.... "to open the outer wrapper or not to open the outer wrapper, that is the question. Whether 'tis still all secretive within?"

Well, have repotted the Merry Tree & will be bringing it into the cottage tomorrow to dress. When the last glistening bauble is placed, I can then put pressies underneath. So, Santa Dear (or Santa's Charming & Noble Assistant), pray tell, is all wrapped safely within????? (am refusing to add that merry UK quip 'answers on a postcard please' for fear of another postal flurry - my poor postman has such a muddy journey down my driveway!!)
