I should add, the singer is Gunnild Tvinnereim, the "keyfiddler" is Asa Jinder , the lyrics are by Petter Skavlan and the composer/arranger is Rolf Loveland. I don't know what genre you'd give it; it's not folk; "pseudo-celtic" comes close.

Skarlet, This is from a cd, "Secret Garden/ Songs from a Secret Garden" Philips D 112397. I bought it on a whim but it's a wee bit mushy for me.

Skarlet - the only reference I've found is a newsgroup message on www.dejanews.com If you go there and search for nocturne you will find a message dated 31/10/98 with the following:

Now let the day Just slip away So the dark night May watch over you Nocturne...

Though darkness lay It will give way When the dark night Delivers the day...

Maybe you can e-mail the person who posted it ?

Slan go foill !

Been searching with no hope. Wondering if any one possibly knows this song and the author. Its a slow song, dont to strings, with haunting female voice. A bit of the last line of the first verse is "know the dark night may watch over you, nocturne" last line of the final verse is "when the dark night believes in the day" Would appreciate any help on this one.
