Subject: RE: BS: The end of Hull From: Pistachio Date: 26 Jun 07 - 05:33 PM Are you really moving to Beverley Mick? Borrow that Ark from Les and Maggie and do a nautical removal up the beck, I'll row.. 'banjo paddle' ready.... "pull". I saw an amazing photo of a barge high and nearly dry stuck on the canal bank in the vicinity of Sheffield (well it was on the BBC photos from the link on the 'wet Sheffield' site). H |

Just got back from Dent festival, took us longer to get from end of M62 to Chants ave - three and half hours - then the whole of the journey going.Sod it............. I'm moving to Beverley. |
Subject: RE: BS: The end of Hull From: Charley Noble Date: 25 Jun 07 - 08:49 PM Les et al- Hopefully it would be a pair of banjo players, one male and one female, so that they could produce a whole family of banjo players from bass to treble. The news reports of the flooding look horrible, and it's more horrible to hear that the pubs are closing. Whatever will you poor souls do? Should we start packing up a shipping crate with beer and ale? Charley Noble |
Subject: RE: BS: The end of Hull From: brid widder Date: 25 Jun 07 - 05:56 PM Do you think you could find two who would admit to being banjo players?... by the way our pub is shut! |

Subject: RE: BS: The end of Hull From: Pistachio Date: 25 Jun 07 - 03:41 PM My husband has just driven through deserted streets in Hull! He is heading south and was re-directed into Hull'cos of the flooding in local areas. "it's really eerie" he said. (No further comments necessary as some people like 'ull) I don't think Les and Maggies Ark is needed just yet but it's a great idea to plan for the future. Maybe we can sail down to Warwick folk festival in a few weeks...our 'regular chariots' MOT is due soon. Keep wearing the wellies! Hazel |

Subject: RE: BS: The end of Hull From: GUEST,Veronica Rutledge Date: 10 Jan 05 - 11:13 AM Horrors! I knew it. Hull is doomed. I am going to advise anyone I know in Hull to move inland at once! Aunt Penelope has assured me that Twillingsgate is far enough inland that no tidal wave could possibly threaten us, so I am staying right here where it's safe. I said, "But what about a tidal bore coming up the river?" Uncle Winston said, "The only tidal bore we have to worry about around here is that prat, Bertie Matchless. I can deal with him." That made us all laugh heartily! :-> TTFN * Veronica * |

Property values will boom and I'll be able to afford armed guard to prevent the boat people from Hull seeking refuge. Throw away those old fridges, get yourself a 4WD for the school run, carry on wasting resources. you know it makes sense |

His workers no longer would answer to "Elves." "Vertically Challenged" they were calling themselves. And labor conditions at the North Pole Were alleged by the union to stifle the soul. Four reindeer had vanished, without much propriety, Released to the wilds by the Humane Society. And equal employment had made it quite clear That Santa had better not use just reindeer. So Dancer and Donner, Comet and Cupid, Were replaced with four pigs, and you know that looked stupid! |
