Subject: RE: Kevin Coyne From: Pat Cooksey Date: 03 Dec 04 - 09:01 PM Kevin died yesterday, suddenly, but after a long illness. He lived for the last 20 years here in Nuremberg. Kevin was one of the rock music icons of the 70's, poet, artist, and songwriter. Our music was totally different but we shared the same friends, he found as I have done, a new inspiration, and a love of life, by living in this woderfull town. His funeral takes place, as he would havw wished, on Monday 13th of December in the Johannis church, in Nuremberg. |

Subject: RE: Obit: Kevin Coyne (2 Dec 04) From: VIN Date: 06 Dec 04 - 11:30 AM Very sad news. Saw Kevin two or three times in the seventies. I remember him as a support at a concert at Blackpool FC supporting Roy Harper & Trigger and Steeleye Span. He had a great voice, guitar style and wrote some great lyrics. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Kevin Coyne (2 Dec 04) From: GUEST,Eric the 1/2 an agent Date: 07 Dec 04 - 08:49 AM I booked the dates for Kevin's last short tour of England at the end of October this year. It was almost as if we knew what lay ahead. Lots of his old friends turned up, he gave what everyone agreed was one of the best gigs of recent years, with his excellent German band. He was in very good humour, but obviously tired.Andy Kershaw was quite right to describe him as one of England's 'lost national treasures'. We have lost a unique talent. Maybe now he will be ' discovered'. Thinking of you Kevin, Helmi,Lesley,Robert and Eugene. |
