Hey peeps :)

I'm in an acoustic duo called Lorelei and we're currently trying to find festivals to play @ around the UK (but I'm open to suggestions in Europe too!:). We played @ some festivals last year and would love to get more booked - any ideas any-one?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Katie :)

ISTM that you're best to look at the guest lists from recent years and figure out which ones book acts like yours. So that way you won't waste time sending a promo of your songs to a dance-only festival (like I have done in the past!)

I also like to get in touch first with a brief "this is who I am and what I do, would you like a promo pack" cos that can save them and you a lot of hassle and postage.

Good luck!

The trouble with this question is it's a bit liking asking someone where Captain Kidd's treasure is buried. If they know, are they going to tell you?

Hi Katie,

There are a couple of festivals with hiring fairs - Whitby week and Saddleworth. Slots at Whitby in particular get booked up pretty quickly so don't hang around.

Other than that, anything with an open stage ie Brampton or be prepared to sit in on a lot of singarounds.

You may want to do a programme of floor spots at key clubs (ie ones it towns that have festivals attached).

Good luck.

Cheers
Sarah
