Subject: Braes of Strathblane-Tune please From: RobbieWilson Date: 09 Dec 04 - 05:42 PM I have just found a 19th century broadsheet ballad calle maggie Bell's Lament from my home town of Barrhead, near Glasgow. It says to the tune of The Braes of Strathblane. Can anyone point me at this tune or another song to the same tune? thanks Robbie |

Subject: RE: Braes of Strathblane-Tune please From: BB Date: 16 Dec 04 - 05:59 PM The dots are in Kidson's 'Traditional Tunes', and a quite strange melody it is, too - we could never agree what mode it was in when we tried to accompany it. Beautiful though. Barbara |
