Subject: kid's parody of 'Tramp Tramp Tramp'

This popped into my head the other day, so I thought I'd ask.

I remember hearing some girls singing a song back in my elementary school days (this would have been in the 1950's.) It was apparently a parody of "Tramp Tramp Tramp". I recall that it had a number of verses, involving a number of characters. The only characters I can remember are "skinny" and "fatso". In each verse, a new character would be "called in", and the character who had been called in in the previous verse would be dismissed. For example, if "skinny" had been called in in the previous verse, a new verse might go:

[?], [?], [?] the girls are calling
calling fatso to come in
fatso is the one
who's going to have some fun
and we don't need skinny anymore.

The missing words ([?]) could possibly have been "Tramp, Tramp, Tramp", or they might have been a different word.

I didn't hear it very many times, and never learned it myself. Does it ring any bells with anyone?

Don

There was another one with the same sort of rhythm that I heard many years ago, sung by Isla St Clair:

Vote, vote, vote for Harold Wilson,
Who's that knocking at the door,
If it's Edward let him in
With a dimple on his chin
And we won't need Harold any more. (Shut the door)

It was sung to the tune of 'Jesus loves the little children'.
