I used to run Camsco Music before Dick Greenhaus took it over five years ago.

In moving things around in my house (suuposedly getting rid of stuff), I came across 17 copies of Jeter Le Pont's CD "l'escapade" that Martha Pellerin had given me. Martha was an absolutely wonderful singer of French-Canadian (québécois) traditional music who died at a very young age of cancer.

This is one of two recordings that she made as part of the trio Jeter Le Pont with Claude Méthé and Dana Whittle. To the best of my knowledge, she never made any solo recordings. These CDs are new and in shrink wrap. I do not know where the masters are or even if they still exist so these may be the last CDs around.

I listed them for auction on EBAY with a price of 4.99 and thought I'd let the Mudcat folks know about it in case anyone is interested.

Thanks.
Wally Macnow

I'm interested! I hadn't heard that Martha had died - what tragic news. I had seen them (Jeter le Pont) several times at venues in northern Vermont, and had been wishing them a long and fruitful career. I knew that they weren't singing together anymore, but I hadn't heard about Martha.
Do you - or does anyone - know if Claude and Dana are still singing in French somewhere?
Don

Martha died about 4 or 5 years ago of ovarian cancer. It was pretty fast in that she died within about 3 months of diagnosis. I lost a good friend and the Franco-American community lost a powerful voice and I don't mean just as a singer.

Claude and Dana split off and formed a duo called Dent de Leon and left Vermont for Quebac. I'm sure they're still making music in Canada though I haven't followed their careers.

Greetings! Julie here! I'm Martha's baby sister.

Sorry I missed getting in on the sale of the CDs! I was just at our family Christmas and we were discussing Martha and apparently some members of the family have had requests from some people for the first recording of Jeter le Pont which was only recorded on cassette.

As for Dana and Claude, yes they are still performing music. They have so far played at the New World Festival in Randolph Vermont which is labor day weekend every year! Lots of the great old folk music at that one day festival! Chanterelle still does alot of the old music like Martha did as well and you can most always find them at the same festival too each year! It's a WONDERFUL event!! One my kids and sweetheart do our best not to miss! It's kind of a reunion with many familiar friends and musicians that new Martha.

Ok....put the plug in for that event! ;)

Just thought I'd pop in when I stumbled onto this message board and just had to pop in! ***Dreamy eyed look***Ahhhhh Memories!!!!!! How wonderful they are!

Hey Wally, I can't picture you but I know I know who you are!! hahahaha

Take care!
Julie (Killington)

Hi Baby Sister,

Wonderful to run into you here. I have several copies of the CD remaining, they're yours if you like. Give me a call.

I thought I had 3 copies of entrecoise too but they turned out to be Rise Up Jack cassettes

W.
