Subject: Rosie Hardman - albums on CD From: GUEST,Rosie Hardman Date: 12 Dec 04 - 08:33 AM People have been writing to me for years asking when some of my albums will be available on CD well - I am finally officially bringing out Eagle Over Blue Mountain on CD - this will be followed at intervals by Stopped In My Tracks and The Weakness of Eve. I have heard the digitally remastered Eagle, I have OK'd the CD inserts and I have negotiated the deal for buying back the copyright and recording rights to the records.... so it really IS happening. HOWEVER... and this is the only downside at the moment.... because of the sheer cost of this project, I am only getting, at the moment, 100 copies of each CD. When I have sold enough copies of Eagle, the money will be ploughed into the release of Stopped and so on until all three CDs are out. If I am then able to afford more stocks of the CDs (this will depend solely on demand), I might get more produced but it is unlikely this CD will ever will be produced in large numbers. I have been told I can expect the delivery of the 100 copies of Eagle in the next 10 days or so. For more details please email me on rosie@rosiehardman.com - Thanks and Merry Christmas when it comes! Subject: RE: Rosie Hardman - albums on CD From: Bernard Date: 12 Dec 04 - 08:04 PM Marazion Sands (a different version from the one on 'For My Part') is on the Lost Leader album, available from Rosie direct. You can contact her on the email address above, and pay by PayPal if you wish. Don't mention 'Lady for Today' to Rosie if you value yer eardrums!! ;o) It's one song she'd rather allow to be quietly laid to rest... |

Subject: RE: Rosie Hardman - albums on CD From: GUEST Date: 18 Dec 04 - 08:09 AM Track Listing for Eagle Over Blue Mountain (CD version) is: Eagle Over Blue Mountain Final Analysis When He Sang Lousiana It Happens All the Time You Stole the Show Poor Old Rose Cry in the Dark Tongue-tied Pride of the River Love's Not a Part of the Deal As Bernard says Marazion Sands is on the other CD I have available - The Lost Leader (an album I recorded privately with Bill Leader in 1973 but which was never released until a couple of years ago. Fortunely it WAS privately done and financed by me - otherwise it would be mouldering in the Celtic grave along with my other work with Bill from the same period - another subject NOT to get me started on eh Bernard?). I'm pleased to say that the reaction to the release of Eagle has been such that I have already given the go-ahead for the next CD (Stopped in My Tracks) to be released as soon as possible in the new year! Thanks for the order Bernard - it's in the mail! :-) Lady For Today was an OK song but I wrote many many songs that were much better... it just got done to death. You'd get the same reaction if you asked Ralph McTell about Streets of London - we've all got one of those songs LOL!!! Unfortunately You-Know-Who owns the album with Lady For Today on it... I tried to buy back the rights to issue those albums as well but of course he wasn't parting with them.... Oh don't get me started! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! |

Subject: RE: Rosie Hardman - albums on CD From: Long Firm Freddie Date: 29 Mar 19 - 09:17 AM The story behind Eagle Over Blue Mountain is on Rosie's website: THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG The 'piece of glass' that started it all.......... In late 1977 I did a tour of Scotland and, whilst doing a bit of sight-seeing, I bought a paperweight from a souvenir shop at the end of Loch Ness. It was made by Caithness Glass and featured an engraved eagle on the outside and a blue, snow covered mountain inside (see picture above). The paperweight was a gift for a special friend but I also bought one for myself, which I still have. I bought the paperweights at the beginning of the tour and it became a major job ensuring that they didn't get broken during the journey - which included a sea voyage over to the Isle of Lewis and back, to play the folk club there. The purchase of this paperweight led to the song, which later became the title track of the album, which later led to the 'Eagle Over Blue Mountain' tour with The Rosie Hardman Band. It was also the cause of my association with Raptor Rescue who owned Wally and Pegasus (see Story) who accompanied us on tour and flew over the heads of very surprised audiences to land on my arm (also see Autobiography) - an event that led to much joy but also my understanding of the phrase 'Never work with children and animals'........ especially eagles with a penchant for beer.... Here's a link to her site where you can buy the CD. Click on My Music in the menu on the left and then on CD Sales/Links. Rosie LFF |
