Subject: Two for the price of one ! From: Ritchie Date: 21 Nov 98 - 10:11 AM Ok i'm still having sleepless nights. I've tried the various leads from Art but I still have n't found what I'm looking for...
"He took the cork from the first bottle had a little drink, Then what?...It's about a man being forced to give up his hobby of collecting whisky bottles.I first heard it years ago on a Hamish Imlach LP but it's not on any of the recent compilations of his music. And item 2...Baz..did you have any joy in finding the tape of the radio programme which included the song about a man who had to split up his record collection with his wife.. Here's hoping.. One last thing , whats the score with regard to posting lyrics ? for instance I think that 'Man of the earth' is a terrific song and would like to post the lyrics but I'm not sure about copywrite would it be OK. Thanks Ritchie |

Subject: RE: Two for the price of one ! From: Allan C. Date: 23 Nov 98 - 01:22 PM I believe that the hilarious whisky piece you are speaking of was a comedy bit done in the late '50's. It was played on WFMT's Midnight Special show last summer. You might try emailing Rich Warren at: special@shout.net He should be able to give you a little help. However, I am pretty sure the recording is no longer available. |
