We'll be staying in Newark, Notts, over Christmas and wondering what's going on within, say, an hour's drive of the town.

We're going the NW Leicestershire tonight, Gainsborough tomorrow night and Sheffield on Sunday. Anything else happening next week?

Christmas Eve, Gainsborough Folk Club will be holding the usual club night at the Drovers' Call pub (on the road into town from Lincoln/Newark).

There's Morris and a session at Gringley on the Hill on Boxing Day. But it starts in Scaftworth at 12 noon which is up the A1, turn off for Bawtry where the A1M starts and then head for Gainsborough. Gringley is further towards Gainsborough on the same road. I only know about this by reputation as it's my first year! I can't even remember the name of the pubs but I'll find out on Sunday.

I think the Scaftworth pub is the King William??? The Gringley pub is the Blue Bell (off the by-pass into the village or you'll miss it). It's a nice session.
