Look here to see that Hull is officialy the worst run council in England!

Nothing wrong with Hull itself I hasten to add. Just the council - and I think sir jOhn has already commented on this.

I just can't believe it isn't Salford!

We've known that for years dave, Hull Council are more interested in putting big screen televisions in the city centre, stupid bloody fountains on the footpath in town [that cost a quater of a million pounds], that freeze to ice when the weather is cold, causing accidents and running courses for black one legged lesbians, than providing proper services, like street lights that work, and getting the bins emptied.

Now sure if it's still the case, but Hull City Council was the richest in Britain after selling of the council owned phone company Kinstong Communications, despite been the richest council in britain they are still the worst performing.

Leader of the council [Colin Inglis] is been investigated for fiddling with little boys, [i think this is the 5th time!], he is also head of Humberside Police Authority.

Hull used to have the highest crime rate in Britain, yet the previous leader of the council [Lib Dem , Simone Butterworth] refused to authorise a CCTV scheme designed to reduce crime!

We know have a CCTV scheme, there are about 200 cameras [though up to now, about 5 of them have been stolen]!

bunch of idiots, the whole lot of them.

Well said Sir jOhn. At one point in recent years, Hull had the highest burglary rate in EUROPE!!

It also had the highest rate of Car Crime in Europe, Humberside Police had a specialist Vehicle Crime Unit, consisting of 1 Ford RS Cosworth and a 3.0 Litre Senator with police dogs in the back to chase stolen cars, it was very successful, until Chief Constable David Westwood disbanded it!
We now have one of the highest rates of car theft in the country!

They now have a "No Pursuit" policy, ie they will follow a stolen car at a nice distance, and hope that the young chappy driving it will see the error of his ways, signal correctly, pull over, and hand himself into custody, [not suprisingly this rarely happens].
Local paper used to print a list of all the cars stolen in the previous few days, so that they could be reported if seen by members of the public, this idea was soon scrapped, as it was taking up too much space in the paper!
