Subject: info pls: 60s group w/ Mid-Eastern oudh From: GUEST,Miriam Date: 20 Dec 04 - 03:36 PM Does anyone remember a folk-rock group in the mid-to-late 1960s in the San Francisco Bay Area who played Middle Eastern instruments? I believe the lead singer played an Oudh. They were at the Berkeley Folk Festival in 1965 and had an album with a song with the lyrics: Stand by me, you don't need to say a word If I stumble or I fall Or I can't see the writing on the wall Please don't say nothin' at all. I'd appreciate any leads. I've just about Googled myself into the ground over this. Thanks from chanteyranger's sister. |

Subject: RE: info pls: 60s group w/ Mid-Eastern oudh From: GUEST,Miriam Date: 20 Dec 04 - 10:06 PM I KNEW you were out there. That's the group. Thank you so very much! I first saw them at the Berkeley Folk Festival--I think in 1965--and went nuts about them--heard them perform many times and then lost track over the years. Can you tell me anything more about Kaleidoscope and their music? |
