I'm trying to find a list of those who have covered the song Gloria, I believe written in 1965 by Them (Van Morrison's group). It's a hard song to research because of the ubiquitous nature of the title. I'm specifically looking for an extended length version, very sultry, that I heard on the radio, and would love to know who recorded it. Anyone know how I might find info on this song? Thanks.

There was a monsterous regional hit of this song simultaneously with Them's version by a group called The Shadows of Knight. In fact, in the midwest, the song is best known by this band c. 1966

I don't know if they've recorded it, but the infrequent reunion tours of Ruthless Blues (Stevie Smith, Tony Fernandez etc) always feature this.

I just about recall hearing the original more than a few times in the Maritime and the Jazzer in Belfast. ("I was a young man back in the 1960's.") It was not obvious to me then that Van Morrison would become "Van the Man".

I'm amazed to learn that there were so many covers. We all preferred his version of "Baby Please Don't Go".
