Subject: Tune Req: Chariots of the Sun - hymns From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 03 Jan 05 - 05:46 PM A friend of mine was watching the movie Chariots of the Sun, an older release about runners heading for the Olympics in Britain between the world wars. She says she heard two hymn tunes in it and would like to know what they are. Does anybody here know what they are? |

Lyrics & midi are at The Cyber Hymnal, which says "This work also made an appearance in the 1981 Academy Award winning movie Chariots of Fire." |

Though how guys running can constitute chariots, much less those of fire, is beyond me. I'll tell my friend about "Jerusalem." She said "the tune goes all over the place" so maybe we've identified the one she liked. In the meantime, is anyone aware of a second hymn in this movie? Thanks, Burke and Masato. PS Wouldn't it be nice if the CyberHymnal would get rid of that track that sounds like the growling of a mournful lion? |
