Looking for the lyrics to the old-time tune "Up Jumped the Devil", if there are any lyrics...I've only heard a solo banjo version and am trying to find more info about the song. All I could find on some web searching was the lyrics of Devil's Dream.

The Tune Wranglers recorded it in San Antonio in 1936 [released as Bb B6982 in July 1937 - reissued on Krazy Kat KK CD 28] - no lyrics, just some indecipherable dance calls. Byron Parker & His Mountaineers recorded it in Atlanta in Feb 1940 [issued as Bb B8432 in July 1640] - Russell's tome indicates instrumental only. Meade et alia also cite Lost Dog recording it in South Carolina in Feb 1939 - also intrumental only. Meade's sole book reference is David Brody 'The Fiddler's Fakebook' NYC, Oak Publications 1983, p282.

Yes, stewie, it's the fiddle tune. I wasn't sure if there might be lyrics for it out there somewhere, since there've been several songs with the title lyric in them, like the Johnson song, etc.
