Subject: RE: Gibson merchandise From: GLoux Date: 18 Jan 05 - 01:58 PM Gibson "Logoware" like T-Shirts and baseball caps are available from many retail music stores like Elderly Instruments in Michigan, Sam Ash, Guitar Center, etc. -Greg |

Subject: RE: Gibson merchandise From: PoppaGator Date: 18 Jan 05 - 02:51 PM I don't know for sure about Gibson, but I can attest that C.F. Martin's website offers all kinds of logo merchandise for mail-order sale. I can't imagine Gibson not taking the same opportunity to make some extra dough -- why not Google "Gibson guitars," find the company's website, and see what you can find? |

Subject: RE: Gibson merchandise From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 18 Jan 05 - 04:43 PM Well, after having perused the offerings of Gibson, Martin and Fender, the winner for the coolest stuff goes to... (drum roll, please)... Fender, for THIS SHIRT! Hell no, I'm not about to spend fifty bucks for the thing, but it is cool. |

Subject: RE: Gibson merchandise From: PoppaGator Date: 18 Jan 05 - 05:53 PM Who would be more offended by the Jesus guitar -- Christians who find it tacky or even sacreligious on the one hand, or nonbelievers who don't want to hear about it on the other? Bad as the guitar might be, the shirt is way cool. And $50 isn't really that terribly high a price for a good-quality extra-colorful "Hawaiian"-type dress-casual shirt. I spend almost that much once each spring for one of these: N.O. Jazz Festival "HowAhYa" shirts Scroll down just a bit to see the shirts. My favorite, of course, is the 1999 Gator shirt, middle of bottom row. (Click any of the little "thumbnail" shirts to see it in large format). |

Subject: RE: Gibson merchandise From: GLoux Date: 18 Jan 05 - 06:26 PM PG: Are you implying that this guitar is offensive to everyone? Hmmmm...you make a good point... I recall my incredulous reaction when I came to realize that this was serious, a real guitar. It is just something I wanted to share with my fellow Mudcatters... Has everyone seen the 1,000,000th Martin? -Greg |

Subject: RE: Gibson merchandise From: M.Ted Date: 18 Jan 05 - 09:12 PM The Gibson Jesus Blicky works right now--but thanks for the other link--it is much cooler, owing to the fact that it doesn't look like someone pasted Jesus stickers on the top of a really expensive guitar--(the back looks like one of those airbrushed t-shirts)--and of course, it was made for Mike Deasy-- |

Subject: RE: Gibson merchandise From: Richard Bridge Date: 20 Jan 05 - 07:12 PM You stupid or something Gibson? And you come across as far more of a member of the lunatic right than any member of the UK royal family about whom I know anything... Capitalism is not the only market philosophy. And it is not necessarily the right road to follow. The point is, and you still don't seem to understand, America produces a lot of stuff that is shit. Some that is good. The fact that something is American is no guarantee of merit. Compare the threads about "Monster Cables". That's what most of the rest of the world (and nearly half of America) thinks of Americanism. When you can understand that being American does not mean that you are right, or better, you may be ready to join the human race. Until then, you, and those like you, are the reasons so many Americans are so reviled by the majority of humanity. |
