Ahhh haaa...well, I've been unable to get on the Mudcat for weeks, but a kindly person (The Countess) has now shown me another way in...

We hope you've all been able to listen, technology permitting (I don't think anyone could recieve it online last week), we are told that the listen back facility will be fixed this week, so you can listen when you want to.

Well, I'll start posting the playlists again as I do them, but the last three weeks are viewable on our website (www.coolasfolk.co.uk - for some reason the blue clicky maker is timing out on me...) , and I have posted some of Chris's reviews on there as well...

Hello again...just to let you all know the listen back facility is now working again, so you can hear last weeks show (Patterson Jordan Dipper, Anahata & Mary Humphries and Tiger Moth among many others...)

www.1287am.com

That'll be there until 10pm, when we'll be on live and doing a tribute to Martyn Bennett...

Cheers

Hello all, yet again I've been unable to get into the 'cat for some reason for ages...

Just a line to let you know that we've two more shows, tonight and next Tuesday, before the end of term. Also, we had some marvellous news the other day that there is an archive of all our shows - they are archived in a rolling three monthly basis, it seems, from January '05 onwards, which can be accessed from:

http://logs.1287am.com/

If you want to see what we've been playing have a look at our website, which is updated weekly with our playlists:

http://www.coolasfolk.co.uk/

Last week went like this:

Fairport Convention - Nottamun Town
from: A Boxful of Treasures (2004) Feld'gling FLED 3046

Eiliedh MacKenzie - Puirt-a-beul (Mouth Music)
from: Best of Battlefield Band/Temple Records (2002) COMD2091

Julie Murphy - Black is the Colour
from : Black Mountains Revisited (1999) Beautiful Jo BEJOCD26

Simon Ritchie - Anarchy in the U.K
from: Squeezebox Schizophrenia (2004) X-Tradition

Bob Davenport - I Am a Rover
from: The Common Stone (2004) Topic TSCD552

Tiger Moth - Radio Polka International
from: mothballs plus (2004) Weekend Beatnik WEBE9043

Fernhill - Dawns O Gwmpas (Dance Around)
from: Whilia (2000) Beautiful Jo BEJOCD30

Tony Rose - 'Twas on One April Morning
from: fRoots CD No. 14 (2000) FROOTCD014

The Poozies - Ma Plaid / Freya Dances
from: Infinite Blue (1998) PRCD03

Nancy Kerr and James Fagan - Meggy's Foot / Coates Hall
from: Between the Dark and the Light (2002) Fellside Records FECD167

Bill Jones - A Jug of This
from: Turn To Me (2000) Bedspring Music BOING 008CD

We hope those of you who listen in are still enjoying the show, and if you haven't heard it yet, why not give it a try!

Cheers

Fee x

Hello Chris

Coincidentally I'm just catching up on your shows having spent the afternoon comprehensively reinstalling everything onto my ailing computer. I'm listening now on iTunes which is a whole lot better than the nasty, flaky RealPlayer. Though Fee has almost busted my speakers with her bleedin' melodeon (tee hee!)

Yeah she'll do that. Through some bizaare twist of fate the first tune sounded better because I forgot to put her mic up, whilst the second is just loud!

Diane, where are you in our forum? We're not trying to replace Mudcat or anything but we would like a bit of feedback on the show, so if have ever listened to the show (or even thought about it), please come along and say hello. www.coolasfolk.co.uk is the address you need.

Chris

Hello

Yes, Princes Royal was rather loud and rather wrong..;o). I was quite pleased with 'Old Woman Tossed up in a Blanket' though. I'm hoping after a summer of playing for real people to dance to it'll improve
A LOT. The one waltz I can play sounds better already thanks to Anahatas workshop on Saturday in Suffolk :o)

Anyway, this i'nt about me...last weeks play list went like this:

Boka Halat - The Drummer
from: The Drummer (2004) TAPS TAPS042

Mawkin - Saint Anne's Reel / Lexy Macaskill
from: Extended Procrastination (2004) Good Form Records MKN001

Richard Thompson - The Angels Took My Racehorse Way
from: Henry the Human Fly (2004 reissue) Fledg'ling FLED3045

Bob Davenport and Linda Thompson - You Came Back Down That Long Road
from: The Common Stone (2004) Topic TSCD522

Chris Wood and Andy Cutting - Reel-unknown
from Chris Wood & Andy Cutting (1990/2001) RUF Records RUFCD01

Martyn and Margaret Bennett - Ho Rinn O (Unrequited Love Song)
from: Glen Lyon (A Song Cycle) (2002) Foot Stompin' Records CDFSR1714

Martin Simpson - Love Henry
from: Kind Letters (2005) Topic TSCD553

Fee Nutbrown - Old Woman Tossed Up in a Blanket (live session)
(and managed to not hit a duff note throughout...)

Eliza Carthy - Turpin Hero
from: Rough Music (2005) Topic TSCD554

The Watersons - Pace Egging Song
from: The Season Round (1996) Topic TSCD700

The English Country Blues Band - Strong Man
from: Unruly (2002) Weekend Beatnik WEBE9040

June Tabor - A Place Called England
from: Always (2005) Topic TSFCD4003

Sandy Denny - Geordie
from: A Boxful of Treasures (2004) Fled'gling FLED3046

Bellowhead - Rochdale Coconut Dance
from: e.p.onymous (2004) Megafone 111

Nic Jones - The Humpback Whale
from: Penguin Eggs (1980) Topic TSCD411

Fee Nutbrown - Princess Royal (live session)
(...but managed to get the duff note(s) into this one!)

Eliza Carthy - Maid on the Shore
from: Rough Music (2005) Topic TSCD554

I have moved our message forum board thingy to here:

http://www.freebb.com/?freebb=coolasfolk

as the old one had quite infuriating floating banner ads on it...people claim this is why they never came to see us, so now we'll see.....;o)..?????

While I'm here, we're back on air on the 26th April, in the meantime you can hear our old shows in the online archive, which is linked from the website.

Cheers

Fee
