OVERFLOWING CAT BOX BLUES
First I must mention the lack of attention:
Now I have grown gaunt from privation and want
Hey, I don't deserve this lousy door service:
Say, whenever I go for the bed or the sofa
Well, you ought to know when a cat's got to go
Since you have spayed me nobody's laid me - |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Cat Box Blues, for alison From: alison Date: 27 Nov 98 - 05:57 PM Hi, thanks Barbara..... I loved it.... Yes please send whatever tune you've got, although probably any 12 bar blues would work. slainte alison |
Subject: Tune Add: OVERFLOWING CAT BOX BLUES (J Robinson) From: Barbara Date: 29 Nov 98 - 11:14 PM Hi crew, this is (more or less) what I learned as the tune, course when its blues, the third slides around a little, and the ending that I know repeats the chorus half time and ends with the word 'blues' dropping to the seventh note. Blessings, Barbara MIDI file: catbox.mid Timebase: 240 TimeSig: 4/4 24 8 This program is worth the effort of learning it. To download the March 10 MIDItext 98 software and get instructions on how to use it click here ABC format: X:1

Subject: Chords Add: OVERFLOWING CAT BOX BLUES (J Robinson) From: BSeed Date: 30 Nov 98 - 01:26 AM Great song,Barbara. It seems to me to be more of a rag than a blues. Here are the chords for the way I worked it out. If I could use my Refresh Threads link, I'd look up ABC Format so I could post my tune (I don't know what it is--I'm sure I didn't create it), but the box sits on top of the Support The Mudcat graphic and I get either that or the Clone Browser window if I click in it.

Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Cat Box Blues, for alison From: Greg Baker Date: 08 Dec 98 - 11:44 PM The song is on a filk album, "Bedlam Cats", which is a Wail Song production. Email me at nyekulturniy@hotmail.com and I'll try to get a copy to you. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Cat Box Blues, for alison From: Garry Date: 09 Dec 98 - 03:27 AM Probably any 12 bar will work but not real blues |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Cat Box Blues, for alison From: GUEST,Genie Date: 06 Sep 01 - 03:39 AM The title reminds me, rhythmically, of Jim Croce's "Workin' At The Car Wash Blues." I wonder if the words could be fitted to that tune. Genie |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Overflowing Cat Box Blues (Jane Robinson) From: Genie Date: 20 Jul 16 - 08:02 PM Yeah, just about any 12-bar progression works. And you can make it a blues if you play and sing it as that. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Overflowing Cat Box Blues (Jane Robinson) From: Helen Date: 21 Jul 16 - 06:09 AM The tune on the ABC above reminds me of Nobody Likes Me (The Worm Song) which kind of matches the attitude of the cat in the Cat Box Blues song, except the cat would probably eat the worms just to throw them up on an inappropriate spot in the house. |
