This week end Friday 4th and agian Sunday 6th there will be two chances to see and hear this highly thought of aspiring performer in St Albans

the answer to Judy Folics

Fri 4th Feb its the 'Windward' club with residents George Papavgeris and Chris Flegg
then on
Sunday 6th Feb its the turn of the 'Spotlight' club with The singing ref and Moses running the show, andthe club also welcomes floor spots but be advised, do arrive in good time to avoid being disappointed.

Both clubs meet in the cosy upstairs room at the Royal British Legion, on Verulam Road, St Albans.

its a non-smoking-crisp-crunching-walking-talking-moblie-phone-ringing-see-the-whites-of-their-eyes-in-yer-face-folk-club

Doors open 7.35 and starts 8.00, but you can arrive when you like, but you'll still be asked to pay cos its the guest your coming to see and they go on later.

But the residents are giggers too and well worth catching.

and the organiser,....

well....

you'll have to come to find out.

We're looking forward to it.

I may have made some progress with a BBC radio appearance as part of this wee trip - still in discussion - more details as I get them.

Best regards
John Robinson

We'd like to go back to uLL - watch this space.

Can I tell her that she is boogieing with an agent who earns his share?

But I am no guest - looks like I must reset my cookie - is this painful?

Charlton are a good outside bet this year.

remember ,you heard it hear first.

It really needs you to come and push the event tonight, no one mentioned it last night at redders, we all were working our own agendas , the M C was totally out of touch with whats on.

thats the way to do it.

Yeah - the folk world is very strange - we all expect to get supported, but do very little to support others

I saw Jenny at the Blue Anchor on Tuesday and asked her if she would hand out some leaflets about Saturday at Redbourn last night - she said she would, but it was made quite obvious it wasn't important and the liklihood of it happening was Nil

We all moan that there's no support for folk - how can we expect the general public to care when we don't care ourselves

How's that for a rant - do I get a prize or certificate?

Packet of crisps walks into a pub and asks for a pint - the barman says - we don't serve food - boom boom

Hey Ross , your picking up on perceptions.

what gets me is that the 'residents' at some clubs dont do the resident thing but leave it to visiting floor singers and then put themselves on late in the 2nd half

I know of some clubs that dont have residents!!!!

I'm fed up of starting club nights so i dont arrive too soon any more and I'm not worried if I dont get to sing.

We didnt get Candy man, it was San Fransico Bay Blues

Fleggy was a class act, lot less of the jazz ,only 3 numbers I can recall.
some one threw a sock at him !!! when he sang

'Pete, the trouble is your feet, they really dont smell very sweet'

with the line

that goes
'the nauseating aroma, put the cat into a coma'

He saw it coming.

Will be plugging it tonoight, where are you plugging it? The song loft?

Part one done to a fullish room.

Part two on Sunday and she's looking for takers for a guitar work shop at 6.30 beforehand.

I was 'Bewtiched ,Bothered and Bewilderd' at the end of the evening.

So women can play the guitar then, well this one certainly does.

What an effortless voice.

tomorrow evening at the Bull in Barton le Clay shes on at 8.30

in aid of tsunami, free admission , raffle and donations please

Perceptions and misconceptions - biggest problem in the world today

We're all very excited in the vullage

I can understand Chris's dilemma - my feet were so bad as a teenager; my mum and dad brought me a pair of odour eaters as a Christmas present - I was an abused child - anyone know a good lawyer

Breezy must still be asleep!

Julie was fab at Barton last night.

Last chance to see her round here for a while. Don't miss it!

El Greko is back unscathed from pub gig in Sowerby Bridge, plus Breezy and 'Moses & the Ref'.

Well what a great weekend!

Three superb sets by Julie. you've won loads of new fans (and friends), can't understand where you've been hiding.

I'm really sad that I couldn't make the guitar workshop before Sunday's gig, but I had to give some time to my family this weekend!

Wonderful to see three talented new faces on Sunday evening in Eleanor, Adam and Simon.

Thanks again Julie, come back soon.

Great guitarwork, and the voice is pretty bloody good too!
And they seem genuinely nice people, John and Julie.

Blimey - thank you for the kind comments.

We enjoyed the experience!

Just back in the house from the motorway, after returning via Lower Brailes (Banbury) and Crediton (Devon) where the newer of the two "Mansons" had a tickle from it's creator. It's better than ever!

Looking forward to coming back into the region later this year.

Thanks again to all for the warm welcome.

Regards
John Robinson (with Julie looking over shoulder)
