Thanks BigJ I am sure you are right. Sydney Carter was the name I was looking for. He wrote a number of excellent songs. If anyone of the 'catters knows where I can pick up a catalogue of his stuff I'd be very interested to know.

I'm fairly sure that the song was written by Sidney Carter (Lord of the Dance) song man and recorded by Ian Carmichael; having said that - I can't help with the lyrics thogh.

Hi All

Anyone know all the words and author of a song I know of called, I believe, Down Below

One of the verses goes

It's a Music Hall song from the 1930's I think
