Subject: Morris Dance query From: BB Date: 05 Feb 05 - 03:19 PM I realise that this may not be the most appropriate place for this query, but I can't find a Morris newsgroup anywhere so thought that some of the amazingly knowledgeable people on Mudcat might be able to help. I've had a query from an English friend working as an Arts consultant in South Africa, who is at present working with a traditional Xhose Dance Company, and wants to know if there is a good video treatment, website, book that offers a guide to history, etc. of Morris dancing. He also wants to know of any young and fit sides that might be around and are particularly good. Any advice would be extremely welcome as I have little to do with any Morris these days. TIA Barbara |

Subject: RE: Morris Dance query From: treewind Date: 05 Feb 05 - 07:15 PM /www.morrisdancing.org/ exists for exacly this kind of purpose. And from there you'll find a link to a very active (or it certainly used to be) mailing list. Dog Rose are a fit and very young team. There are others, can't think of them ATM. Anahata |
