There´s a new Skiffle CD release in Germany,
produced by Lutz Eikelmann, a compilation called:
REMEMBERING LONNIE DONEGAN

It features the talents of Lonnie´s eldest son Tony Donegan, british banjo soloist Sean Moyses, Lonnie´s old mate Dickie Bishop, the Twins78, a young pop group from Germany, Lutz Eikelmann´s Jazzband, Lonnie´s friend Paul Leegan and many others. It´s a kind of "family" album although not the whole Donegan family is musically involved which is really a pity.

But it´s a "must-have".

Recorded in 2003 and 2004 in Germany, I hope you´ll like it. I´m sure.
The blend is right, and this compilation brings you back to the old days of Skiffle Craze. A lovely tribute to the King Of Skiffle.

You can order it directly from the producer Lutz Eikelmann:
www.lutz-eikelmann.de ( online shop )
or mail to:
eikelmann-hagen@t-online.de

Interesting. I have Lutz' 2 CDs with Dickie Bishop. I notice on the official LD website they make a point of saying Paul Leegan's tribute act is not sanctioned by the family!

This doesn't seem to be available from the "Sales" page of the website (but my non-existent German may have contributed to my missing it!).

Regarding Paul Leegan:
Yes, that´s right. I am wondering that Sharon sees a dangerous competition in the PL band and it´s amazing that she "promotes" him so much with this comment on Lonnie´s website. It´s almost like a direct link to PL.
When you visit the LD website, it seems to be that Paul Leegan is the most important name in this context. Maybe it should be wiser to feature just "THE STORY OF LONNIE D" on Lonnie´s website.
Sharon Donegan should trust in the fact that audiences and record buying public are able to make their own judgement about their musical favourites.

But if Tony Donegan should realise his ambitions of making a solo career instead of being just part of the musical, he would be a much bigger competition than a hundred Paul Leegans because he´s a DONEGAN...
But that´s not my business, and I am not interested to be involved in this kind of trouble.

My point of view is, I am happy about everything what happens in present time with Skiffle and Lonnie Donegan music, the whole thing was too long almost forgotten.

I am not Paul Leegans lawyer and not his ambassador, and he´s definetly not the official tribute act, that is THE STORY OF LONNIE D, and I wish Sharon and her eldest son Peter all the best and all possible success for it.
But if you see the photographs with PL & Lon on Paul´s website and if you listen to the Radio Coventry live broadcasting featuring him and Lonnie on the phone live from Las Vegas, well, go on and make your own judgement.
