Subject: RE: Jack Elliott recordinnngs From: Flash Company Date: 20 Feb 05 - 10:28 AM Thanks anonymous Guest and Open Mike for the track lists, sounds interesting! Subject: RE: Jack Elliott recordinnngs From: open mike Date: 20 Feb 05 - 01:15 AM this fellow...i heard him not too long ago.... is known to ramble on...telling stories and talking...his name does not necessarily refer to travel. He was one of the featured performers when the national radio show Prairie Home Companion was performed and broadcast at a concert hall near here recently. As it turns out, there was a rodeo being held at an adjacent arena that same day . I believe he has been in rodeos, and has quite a few broken bones to prove it...well they are not broken now, they were fixed...http://www.ramblinjack.com/ |
Subject: RE: Jack Elliott recordinnngs From: Leadfingers Date: 19 Feb 05 - 08:48 PM I have an EP of one of the Festival Hall recordings -Possibly early sixties - Jack Elliott (of Birtley) had broken his ankle and was still in plaster ! Introduced himself as 'Stumbling Jack , NOT Rambling Jack '!! The Rambling Jack CD's look well worth it !! |

I didn't think that Topic ever lost anything, but it appears to be a live session in the Isle of Wight in the '50s. Anyone seen it? FC |
