Subject: Lyr Req: West Cork - Bad Turn for Coursing Dogs
From: GUEST,Danny

I am seeking the lyrics/melody of a song from West Cork. These dogs were coursing a hare near Skibbereen. The hare led them to a cliff's edge - made a sharp turn and, regrettably, the dogs perished in a bad fall - probably 40 years ago.

I was out singing at a pub a few months back. A young soldier named Kierney (Kearney?) told me about the episode and the song. Said they were his grandfather's dogs. Young Kierney (light armor cavalry) was scheduled to ship out to Kosovo within that week (elections). If I see him again, it'd be nice to have it.

That's all I know - thanks,

Danny

PS That night was the best version I ever got out of "Enniskillen Dragoons".
