Looking for the chords to the following songs:

"Long Lankin", "Edwin"   and   "Little Sir Hugh"

Can anyone help.

Prefer them as simple as possible as I am an 'Acquired Brain Injury' person.
If they can be written with the lyrics - so much the better (preferable, actually) and if the chord could be placed inside parentheses AT the point where the change occurs. It helps me to time my playing - something I can no longer do spontaneously following my head injuries.

Thanks Guys

John "Muttley" Waters

Come (Am) all you (E) wild young (Am) people, and (Em) listen (G) to my (Am) song,
I (Am) will un(E)fold con(Am) cerning gold, that (Em) guides so (G)many (Am) wrong.
Young (C) Emma was a servant (G) maid and (Am) loved a sailor (E) bold.
He (Am) ploughed the (E) main, much (Am) gold to gain for his (Em) love, as (G) we've been (Am) told.

Um .... I did this song when I did cse music in 1975 - I havent played it since but these are the chords as I remember em.

Any problems let me know. (Post a Reply.)

I'll try and listen to the others sometime and post them up too.
It's a nice song. The song seems to use a "fluctuating" 7th This means that sometimes E minor is used sometimes E major. I made some verses loud and some quiet to add drama and contrast.

All the best hope it helps

Muttley,

Since you like Steeleye, here is a site that might be of help in the future--alas, it doesn't seem to be now. In the page that comes up when you click the link there is a thingy at the lower left side of the page: 'lyrics and chords'. Click there. Leads to a gang of songs on a per-album basis.

I have been looking for the songs you want and comin' up dry. However, I'll keep lookin'.

Muttley,

Not sure if the following may be of help to you?

My program HARMONY can write a Karaoke style MIDI file in which the CHORDS are shown instead of the words.

You can then play back the MIDI using suitable software (There are free Karaoke MIDI players available for the PC) and see the chords as the music is playing.

It would be easy for me to add an extra option so that you would see the chords in brackets as well as the words.

Please let me know if this is of interest.

Thanks to all who have so graciously helped out here.

Toff: (LOVE the moniker, BTW) I ahve transposed the chords onto the words I have - will let you know how I go.

Pavane: Would LOVE to accept your kind offer - provided I can get it to work this end - Sad, really, I have a genius-level IQ and as far as computers and electronic thingies go, I'm a total techno-moron.

BTW - I tried to find my thread in the forum and couldn't, so thinking it had 'dudded out' I tried typing in a "Long Lankin +chords" request into my favourite search engine and it came up with one address that was my thread at the Mudcat. So why can't I find the thread in the forum - or am I looking in the wrong place? (see techno-moron comment above!).

Georgiansilver - I shall certainly try your link.

Brucie: would like to try yours, but you didn't write it in.

Again, thanks guys - - - - - - M

This link for SS Lyrics and Chords worked for me, many sets there. I think it is the one from above.

SS Lyrics & Chords don't have the ones I'm after - they don't appear to have anything from "Commoners Crown" at all.

Still looking guys - any other leads: Or brilliant muso's that could chord them for me? (Just a verse and a chorus for each will be sufficient - I can take it from there)
