Subject: Don Richardson pre-1920s recordings From: Goose Gander Date: 04 Mar 05 - 12:26 PM Does anyone know if the pre-1922 recordings of Don Richardson have been reissued? I believed he recorded (among others) "Arkansaw Traveler" in 1916 (Columbia A-2140) and 1919 (Okeh 1255); "Soldier's Joy" and "Turkey in the Straw" in 1921 (Columbia A-3452); "McLeod's Reel" and "Mississippi Sawyer" in 1919 (Okeh 1169); "Durang's Hornpipe" in 1916 (Columbia A-2018). My google search turned up very litttle, and I don't remember reading about Richardson in any of the stuff I've read about string bands / hillbilly / early country. |

Richardson's first recording session was in December 1914: 'A Perfect Day/Dear Old Girl-Waltz' (Mx# 37125)" The above is from a google of Don Richardson: Information From Answers.com Click the link entitled 'Claims regarding Don Richardson's recordings' |
