Almost a year since the great Sydney Carter left us. And Mike Sparks, no mean songwriter himself and an admirer of Sydney, has recorded 10 of Sydney's songs in an album called "Singing Sydney".

The album is being launched tonight, with a show that Mike has put together including anecdotes from Sydney's life and a very thoughtful and complete presentation of his material.

The place to be is: Finchley Methodist Church Hall, Ballards Lane, Finchley, N3 1NB. Tonight, 5th March, at 8pm. Entrance free (donations will be invited towards the Alzheimers Society).

So come on you Londoners and "Home Counters" and join us tonight in celebration of one of the great Londoners of the 20th century.
