Dear Catters - I would like to have a holiday in USA or Canada this year and take in a Folk Festival as well. Possible Festival dates would be
1, June 3-5. 2, July 8-10 3, Aug12-14 4, Sept 16-18 or Oct 21-23.

I like to sing and play myself ( and drink beer and make friends )so can anyone recomend festivals which are good for singarounds. Also information on how to get there, festivals which are easy to get to from UK especially welcome as I've never been to USA or Canada before, I live in Yorkshire.

I would appreciate any information from UK or Irish people who have been to USA / Canadian festivals, thank you.

Ahhh, too bad you can't be hear in Canada for the first weekend of July, for the Stan Rogers Folk Festival! details for Stanfest are here....

THe largest festivals in Nova Scotia :
       Celtic Colours (mid-late October)
       Stanfest (early July)
       Hank Snow Festival (mid summer)
       Lunenburg Folk Festival (mid-summer)

Thanks folks, a few ideas to start with and the Stanfest looks a possibility if I can swap shifts with one of my colleagues at work.
