Subject: RE: Alice & Big Mick From: Pete M Date: 07 Dec 98 - 11:28 PM Annraoi - would you believe "desperate"? Well you did ask for it. Go forth and search thy atlas and you may discover that there are actually countries which do not have "states" as a sub unit! Next thing we'll all have to amend the spelling of town names to a maximum so that the US mail system can cope - mutter moan grumble cultural imperialism mutter Pete M |

Subject: RE: Alice & Big Mick From: Alice Date: 04 Dec 98 - 06:54 PM Thanks for posting this, Frank. Good to hear from you. I do wish I could visit the Nenagh song circle. It is the same at the session here, too. A song is thrown in when the players need a short break. Some day I will get a song circle going here, and I will fashion it after what you have created there. Here is my email address: acflynn@mcn.net
Merry Christmas. I shoveled snow 2 feet deep from around my house today, and it is still coming down. alice |
Subject: Alice & Big Mick From: Date: 04 Dec 98 - 01:10 PM Hello Alice and Big Mick, 'Tis lovely to missed. I missed you too. Sorry I disappeared off the face of the web but I've been under pressure with godforsaken work (employment for monetary gain) and have had to leave aside the most important things in life for a while.
So I shall be joining you once every few days from work and can be reached for the moment at; I've a lot of catching up to do so go easy on me for a while. 'Tis great to be back. Frank McGrath PS. The Singers Circle is going great and there are now about nine operating in the area. There are singing sessions every week within a one hour drive. The musicians had taken over the pub sessions for many years. (The singers and story tellers were only allowed to perform when the musicians had to answer the call of nature). But now we have our own times to ourselves and hopefully we can start joint sessions with a little more balance and variety. I'd love for you to experience it sometime. Each night is unique and lovely with eight to eighty year olds, great singers and crap singers, gobshites and philosophers all respecting each others gift of voice. Jasus - once I start I can't be shut up!!! Thanks for missing me and being here whe |
