Just to let folkies around South Yorkshire know that Kiveton Park Folk Club will be celebrating 35 years of continuous weekly sessions next Tuesday, 15th March. Like the Windmill Theatre, we've never closed! Anyone with a past connection to the Club (plus any newcomers) is invited to come along and renew old aquaintances ( or make new ones!) It will be our usual singaround, with free grub of the most unhealthy kind, black puddin', pork pies, quiches, buns etc,plus a large dose of good humour, p**s-taking, cameraderie and some fine singing for good measure. So, come all ye, you're most welcome, as ever!!
And finally, thanks to all who support the club now and to those who have given their support in the past. Diamond geezers every one!

Yes, it's no smoking in the club room,but those who like the weed can inhale to their hearts content in the passage where they can still hear and see the performers. And yes again, all are welcome, even from the deepest, darkest depths of Gainsborough. (What's with the Sin City bit? are we Kiveton folk missing summat?)

Excellent club for all those who want to go. One of the friendliest (and cheapest) around.

Think yourself lucky you live in civilisation - you've even got a cricket team. They drove Gainsborough Britannia out of existence years ago when they kicked them off the Northolme and made them play on the local tip. :-)

Can't make it from Sunny Stocksbridge due to little things like the build up to St Pats night, my bath being ripped out by my brother and imminent plastering but I believe that a gaggle of Sheffield singers may be on the way.

A gaggle of Sheffield singers (or a gaggle from anywhere!) would be most welcome tomorrow night, though I,m not sure that 'gaggle' is the correct collective noun for folk singers? Anyhow, thanks for the contact.
One question though,did your brother rip the bath out in a fit of temper, or was it a planned thing?

All the best for tomorrow. I have many happy memories of Kiveton Park Folk Club from when it was at the Lord Conyers (many years ago...). I'd be there if I could but as I now live in Kent I'll just have to send my best wishes.

It has been a fantastic club over the years and spawned quite a few singer song writers as well as a Morris side (Lord Conyers) and a women's dance side (Yorkshire Chandelier).

Brother's ripping out of the bath is all part of the grand lets end up living where I don't have to take 5 buses to get anywhere , grateful as I am to the lifts I get from the esteemed asirovedout. I deny that any of you have seen me plastered but if the bath is still out by that point I will probably be.
