Readifolk Present A Grand Charity Concert featuring:

Uiscedwr - much acclaimed Welsh-Irish trio nominated for the BBC Folk Award Horizon Award and (if I remember correctly) fRoots cover stars. www.uiscedwr.org

Pete Orton - hilariously funny singer/songwriter

Eddie Winship - from Radio Reading 107FM

Friday 8th April at 8pm at The Holiday Inn, Caversham Bridge, Reading.

This gig is in support of the new Sensory Music and Drama Centre at Addington Special School, which wishes to provide a full range of musical instruments for the pupils, who have a wide range of learning difficulties, many of which are associated with sensory, motor, medical and behavioural needs. Visit www.musicforminds.org for more details.

Tickets are £6 in advance, or £7 on the door (if still availiable). For advance tickets and enquiries, please ring 0118 9483145.

Please support this very worthwhile project.

Chris

Shame I will be on my way to Brittanny on the 8th !! We had 'em at The Compass Theatre in Hillingdon (Uxbridge Folk Club) and can most definately reccomend them to any afficionados of Talented young Celtic
musicians . She can sing AND play fiddle , the Bodhran player is actually a percussionist and just watching the Guitarist made my wrist ache !!

I'm not actually sure I'll be able to make the gig which will be a real shame (I'll probably be duck-sitting in Somerset!). But I have heard many a good thing about them, and would love to catch them.

An interesting fact to thinly disguise this 'Refresh' post: 'Uiscedwr' means 'water water' in Irish then Welsh. And Pete Orton works for the water board. Crazy!

Another amazing fact: 'Uiscedwr' is pronounced 'Ish-ka-dooer'!

Well it's better than 'refresh'!

Shame they cancelled, but by all accounts the evening was a success anyway - and Atlantic Bridge stepped into the breach.
