Need some help with Trad music

We are performing a St Paddy's Celebration at the local Arts Guild this Friday night and the person in charge insists on a song list with original composers/arrangers. We have done all our arrangements but would like any input on the composers of the following songs:
Risin' of the Moon
Gilgarry Mountain
Star of the COunty Down
ROddy McCorley
Danny Boy
Let them in,Peter
Tear my Stillhouse Down

The last couple are not Irish but we are going to throw them in for the heck of it. They are great songs Thanks in advance for your help. jimmyt

John Keegan Casey, 1846-1870 'risin' of the moon'

Gilgarry Mountain - unknown - tradition 18th century

Star of the COunty Down - Star of the County Down (as first published in Herbert Hughes' Irish Country Songs, vol 4(1936) having been possibly written by "Cathal Garvey 1866-1927"
According to Colm O'Lochlainn "Songwriters of Ireland in the English Tongue" The Star of the County Down was undoubtedly written by Cathal McGarvey 1866-1927,


Roddy McCorley - written by Ethna Carberry (AD 1866 - 1902). The tune is older.

I'm surprised that there's somebody left here who doesn't know that "Danny Boy" isn't Irish, written by Sheffield magistrate Fred Weatherley (the link is one of many).

Great info, I really appreciate this stuff. It saved me a lot of time. Ian, I continue to disappoint people throughout life with my lack of such vital information as Danny Boy. I promise to try harder, though.

Yes, Wesley, it is. I put the whole list kup on the thread before thinking I knew the Stillhouse/welch as well as the Let them in, Peter/ Gorka answers without looking them up. ANyway, Stillhouse is a great song! THanks for the response

Star of the County Down (original version)was written by Cathal McGarvey but usually not aired today. The version of Star of the County Down (or Flower of the County Down) sung today is an adaptation by Richard Hayward.
What is the version you propose singing?
