From: open mike Date: 16 Mar 05 - 01:31 AM if you are talking about camp ong, i do not know where it is. on the other hand songs --i do know a few Ragtime cowboy joe comes to mind and this one about a horse (it is a round) I like to ride a horse and buggy I like to ride all over town I like to hear old Dobbin go clip clop I like to see those wheels go round (wheels go round) Horsie, horsie, on your way, we've been together for many a day so let your tail go swish and your wheels go 'round giddy up we're homeward bound th4en there is the silly one: pi-co-lo-mi-ni, pi-co-lo-mi-ni, pi-co-lo-mi-ni, pi-co, lo-mi-ni-pi-co-lo-mi-ni-pi-co-lo-mi-ni-pi-co-lo-mi-ni-pi, co-lo-mi-ni-pi-co-lo-mi-ni-pi-co-lo-mi-ni-pi-co-lo-mi-ni it loses a lot in the translation, but these are fun ones that have stuck with me all these years.. also goofy ones like: sitting in my cabin one dark night every thing was still, still turned around a saw a guy chewing on the window sill bite the wall, bite the wall, bite the wall, ooh ooh, bite the wall, bite the wall, baby, bite the wall the girl scouts taught me many many songs.. they have a song book. and i am sure there would be someone in teh bay area girl scout council who has a lot of songs to share. Our official address is www.girlscoutsbayarea.org. is kqed in sacto or frisco? rise up oh flame, by thy light glowing, show to me beauty, vision and joy... peace i ask of thee oh river, peace, peace, peace.. when i learn to live cares will cease from the hills i gather courage, vision of the day to be strength to lead and faith to follow all are given unto me peace i ask of thee oh river, peace, peace, peace.. |

Subject: RE: Camp ong Expert? From: LadyJean Date: 16 Mar 05 - 01:42 AM You could check with Josepha Sherman, the "Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts" lady. Or you could check several mudcat threads. There's a Girl Scout song thread on here, and a thread about the song "Barges". |

Subject: RE: Camp Song Expert? From: Joe Offer Date: 17 Mar 05 - 06:06 AM Hi, Dick - yes, Blessings Barbara put Karen in touch with me. I gave her links to A Prairie Home Companion Camp-Song Songbook, and to sometime Mudcatter Aminal Al Boyce's Many Point Sing-Along Songbook. I gave her links to our camp songs threads (above), and to our threads on "Naughty Kids' Greatest Hits." I also suggested she should contact Judy Cook and Caroline Paton, but they only know girls' camp songs, which are a horse of a different color. -Joe Offer- Dang! I should have given her Girl Scout Favorites. |
