This Sunday, April 3, my guests will be Spirit Wing and Cathie Ryan.

Cathie will be giving us a sneak preview of her soon-to-be released CD "The Farthest Wave" (Shanachie).    I think this is Cathie's most intriguing album, more thematic this time, and her voice never sounded better.   The songs on the album deal with loss, or rather how we recover from losing loved ones. Cathie weaves some original songs as well as her take on a few classic songs, including "Home Sweet Home". The album was produced by John McCusker and features John along with guest appearances from Karine Polwart and Seane Keane.

Also on the program, a live-in-studio performance from Spirit Wing. This trio from the Philadelphia area is steeped in Native American tradition and they perform songs from and inspired by Native American folklore. They have appeared at numerous festivals including the Philadelphia Folk Festival and I am honored to have them on the show.
