Just back from the pub where most of us were on soft drinks...apart from Micca, Manitas and Pixieofdoom....they're 'ard you know!!!

It was an absolutely wonderful day and I am so honored to know you all.

When we were cutting the cake Everyone stood sang for us...what a wonderful sight and sound. After that Micca sang The Way You Look Tonight to me....it was beautiful and there was not a dry eye in the room!!

Thank you to CARA for travelling down from oop north to play for everyone...they are brilliant. If you haven't heard them they are a must!!

The singing was great as were the outfits!

A big Thank You to Limpit you who was my bridesmaid and hand maiden. She looked like a Princess and did an outstanding job!!

Another Big Thank You to Mrs Duck for making the very alcoholic cake!!! It was gorgeous.

We didn't manage to take any pictures but I am sure some others will post theirs soon...there were alot of camera's flashing!

Thank you to all that came to celebrate and thank you for the many gifts. I was hoping to write to everyone personally to say thank you but there were just so many of you there I don't know where to start!

Hope to see some of you at The Yorkshire Gathering next weekend.

What a great day! I met even MORE Mudcatters..and all as lovely as the rest. The ceremony was wonderful, the clothes were fantastic (and I really MUST get to Campden Market!!). Sorry Morti, while Idris's bum in the leather trousers was a sight to behold, I'm afraid he'll have to concede defeat...Raedwulf is definitely Mudcat Male best bum! I got to sing with a group of females the song we sang at Miskin, which was totally different with the different group...I sang another song with Rock Chick which worked quite well and which we may repeat next weekend, Cara sounded brilliant as usual. The food was great, the cider was lovely, lots of hugs and cuddles (from both males and females). A generally enjoyable day, ending with eating pizza and ice-cream in Walthamstow at midnight. Thanks to Lady Penelope and Parker for putting us up and giving us an enormous breakfast this morning. Epn says his pic

EmmaB and I got there too late for the ceremony , having been on a narrow boat 200 miles away at nine in the morning ! At least we got there before ALL the food was eaten , and all the beer drunk ! I will add my vote of approval for Cara as a VERY AVERAGE band -( PM me if that confuses you !) And a good time was definately had by all !!

well. Friends. if you really feel You MUST get Hansfasted, this is the way to go. with Family and friends and lots of singing, a First Classs band (Cara) and some of the Very best UK Mudcat singers, then all you need is a good pub that serves very good real ale (and Cider) and take it from there, I have No idea what pictures are going to appear, as I was just a bit busy today, but leaving that aside, I couldnt have planned what happened, and it would not have been as good if I had, I am so grateful to all the Mudcatters who were present and contributed to this amazing, memorable ocassion, we both thank you all who attended, and who wished us well from other places, we have shared a unique expierience, and it was and will for ever be, enriched by your friendship and presence, The feeling of being cared for by ones friend is special

Well it happened... it was wonderful and it was still going on when we left with a Limpit practically asleep on her feet!

Khatt looked stunning, Micca was (for once) pretty smart, Limpit was a picture (one by Picasso) and various other assorted Mudcatters appeared in various guises.

There are pictures, I'll send a selection to Pene to fix up, but I'm afraid the video didn't happen (due to the reluctance of the owner to 'faff about with it'....)

Oh, and I claim 150, thank you!!

You can walk from Upton Park station, it's not far but it might be easier to catch a bus from Stratford on the Central Line.

Well they've been and gone and done it!

The Ducks and us greeted them outside Selby Registry Office this morning and got proof that they are now legally married. Mrs Duck took lots of photos which she is sending to Pene today - so watch out for them soon.

Yep! Session in the back bar of the Black Lion in Plaistow from 8pm on Friday 13th May. On Saturday 14th people should be gathering at 2pm in the barn/function room at the very same pub and the handfasting will be at 3pm and then the party will go on until the throw us all out!! If you want to be at the pub before 2pm on the Saturday you are very welcome...and I am sure the Micca and Pixie and Morti will be there to welcome you all!!

Forgive me Liz, as I'm quite sure you've already made this clear to everyone and their aunt, but is your little feast on the same day as the handfasting?
I know that I haven't been following this thread closely enough, but it seems like it's turned into a three day event, and I'm a little confused as to what's happening when.

The only thing I actually thought to mark down on my calendar was to be at the Black Lion by 2pm-ish on Saturday May 14th.

Care to post an "Event Calendar" for us?

Reasonable. There is usually some space nearby, if not outside the house. It depends on where the next door neighbour has parked his truck and if his wife has taken up 2 parking spaces instead of 1.

There are no parking restrictions in the streets nearby, except for the normal ones for corners and roundabouts.
