This has already had a mention on their gigs perma-thread, but I think it warrants its own thread.

Mary and Anahata got played on last night's Mike Harding show.

Well done, richly deserved!

Hear it here

Thanks for that, singing ref. I've just listened and enjoyed the whole programme. Thought Mary and Anahata were well up to the standard of the rest of the artists. I've emailed MH to say so.

I'm off to the National soon and look forward to hearing them again.

I don't know about brilliant, but I was chuffed to hear that Mr Harding has been playing it "over and over" while driving about. It confirms my existing suspicion that he knows what he likes but is under "commercial" pressure from the production company as far as the majority of his playlist is concerned. I thought his comments about taking the msuic "from the bar room to the studio without losing authenticity" (or similar) were spot on too.

Better email a big hint to Verity Sharp now. Or at least make sure I listen to Late Junction right though, in case we get lucky twice...

Anahata

Congratulations, Mary and Anahata! Well deserved!
Old Mike does do some things right, some times...
Here's to many more like it, M&A!

Just listened to it - seems I'll have to look out for that CD when I get to Britain again!
I also loved the interview and music from Tom Paxton, one of my favourite songwriters. I won't complain about Mike Harding's programme - it's better than nothing, and if his(?) choices sometimes seem a little odd if classed as folk, at least they help to warn me off certain areas ...
Besides, has anybody else played M & A's music on the radio yet?

Hi Suzanne - we've been played on local radio both here and in one or two places in the USA, and some internet radio folk programmes, but this was our first national radio airplay.

You don't HAVE to wait till you come over here to get your hands on a CD, though if you are planning a visit of course it would be good to meet you, so keep us posted!

(Dick Greenhaus should have some at CAMSCO, or you can get CDs online at Musikfolk and other places)

Anahata
