Here's how I play it -- should be close:

Oh you (D) sailors all come lend an ear and (G) listen to my (A) song
It's (D) how a trick was (G) played on (D) me and it (G) won't de(D)tain you (A) long
I came (D) home from sea the (G) other (D) day and a (G) girl I (D) chanced to (A) meet
And she's (D) asked me up a(G)long with (D) her to (G) dance in (A) Patrick (D) Street

Cheers,
Michael

You can judiciously leave out some of the G chords here and there for variety.

Thanks Michael. Arty McGlynn sure makes it sound like more than three chords. Do you know if he is using open tuning?

From what Artie has told me, he mostly plays in drop-D (DADGBE) tuning. I don't have the recording handy, so can't check.

Cheers,
Michael
