Went and played a bit of Flamenco in The Station on saturday, had some mussels, whelks and a big fat ice cream, spiffing day really.

I don't know Filey, so I will find 'The Grapes' and/or ' The Station' around 12 lunchtime, and look to see if anyone else is there. Daughter is coming over, so I'll probably arrange a meet with her. Which pub is more likely to have music at lunchtime? I'm assuming they are both easy enough to find. All advice gratefully received, also from organisers on this one.
Thanks in advance
Lawrie

I'd better refresh this thread. So, who is coming? I don't want to sit in concerts, I enjoy sessions, and it looks as though there should be plenty of them. I anticipate getting there - with daughter -in time for lunchtime music on Saturday, and staying for the evening stuff.
I say again, will there be plenty of musicians there?

I don't think this clashes with Sidmouth. Doesn't Sidders start on the following Friday?

Well, I quite fancy a good play at an instrumental session, and that part of the world is sooo nice. I believe Kit - daughter with piano accordion - will be coming too. Who else?
Probably spending Saturday there.

It also clashes with Hardraw. Shame cos I've not been to Filey in ages.

Confirming that the new landlord at The Grapes is coming on board giving space for singers and musicians sessions all the weekend. This is in addition to the evening concerts and daytime sessions at The Station. Anyone wanting a 30minute spot contact fileyfolk @aol.com.

Weelittledrumer - the crab spoke highly of you!!!   Filey is on the beautiful North Yorkshire coast between Scarborough & Bridlington. Not much on website mainly because I don't operate one, but work by osmosis, hoping that others will spread the word. Lazy sod some might may say, very busy with lots of other community things say I.
I will keep visiting this thread to answer queries.

don't buy the crab in a plastic bag from that hut on the front at Filey, it gave me food poisoning, and I've never been the same since

Due to popular demand, as they say, there will be a second one, cunningly disguised as FFF05. As before low-key, informal, no budget! From sea shanties to skiffle. Details from fileyfolk@aol.com
