Hello everyone. The Friendly Earth Acoustic Club is back in the form of a Gathering. So come on down to The White Horse/Finbars High St North, in Dunstable. Bring your intruments, voices, stories and most importantly yourselves. On Monday 11th April. 8.00pm til 11.00pm. Carpark at rear and there will be some real ale somewhere and yummy food. Yippee. It will be held in a no smoking function room £1 enrty. The other dates are Mon 9th May and Mon 13th June. Hopefully we will have a 12hr Early Summer Special in July and then come back at the end of Summer in conjuntion with The Dunstable Folk Festival. Who is up for it?

Sounds nice.
Do we have to show any credentials for being 'earth friendly' ? - or will a bit of mud on the shoes suffice ?

Sally

Hello Sally, some mud will be great or a didgeredoo (how ever you spell it). Good point Ross, this will also clear up the carparking as well. If you come from Luton and you get to the big traffic lights where the double trouble round abouts were, you turn right there and it is very near to the pelican crossing, on the left. You do have to be on this side of the road to get to it. I.E if you come the other way from Milton Keynes and L Buzzard you will have to turn round after the lights and come back. Unless you can turn off right just before the Pelican crossing and use the public car park there which adds on to the pub carpark and is free after 6 0'clock. I will do some investigation. Don't forget all you Dunstable dudes that Wild Willy Barrett is doing a music night at The Norman King on Wednesday nights. (Thank God) I have not been but I will be going next Wednesday.

Yes it is caught in the Gulf between the freezing Milton Keynes and the boiling St Albans, so it's a bit of both. Wild Willy Barrett's Club, at The Norman King Wednesday in Dunstable. I bet that will be hot.

Yeah - a lot of people I've spoken to are very keen for Monday

I struggle with St Albans as I work in Redbourn on Fridays and it means I either have to hang around until it starts or do the journey back and forth if I go home

I prefer to go home and get drunk

Don't forget The Red Lion in Kneesworth 13.00 on Monday lunch time for those of us who need it before "The Friendly Earth" to get us in the mood. Bottled Ale only at the moment at The White Horse but the Landlord and Lady are swayable if we all drink Ale. What ale is at The Red Lion? I wonder. Only two days to go. Tomorrow I have a Bodhran workshop with Stefan Hannigan, then it's of to The Second Sunday at St Albans in The Rose and Crown, to get me in the mood for The New Roots Competition at Trestle Arts Base, Russet Drive Highfield Park, St Albans AL4 0JQ, on Sunday 17th April.

Great night at The Rose and Crown. Folk being folk it was a bit backwards, the main act did the second half before the floorspots and went home, we had a good sess though. The Red Lion at Kneesworth tomorrow lunch time, then the main event of the begining of the week "The Friendly Earth Acoustic Gathering" then at the end of the week "New Roots" and oh yeah inbetween work.

Just got back from The Red Lion in Kneesworth, great mixed session there. The only thing wrong with it is that it was not long enough. Just another case for a 12hour singaround. George and Jenny are playing at Letchworth on Friday supporting Steve Tilston. Nice.

Cheers to all who turned up I will let Ross go through the names. That's still his job. Cheers Ross, cu all soon.
