Subject: RE: Smithsonian Folk Festival June/July 2005 From: open mike Date: 06 Apr 05 - 11:13 PM ha!~ sounds interesting.. i was a part of travelling exhibit that focussed on food...thru the ages. it was a smithsonian exhibit, and one of the stops it made was at my little local museum, and that occasion inspired the birth of the trio i play with now! we included quite a few food related songs in our repertoire...from Boil them Cabbage down, to Ground hog, and some songs about various other food fruit, etc. including shove that pig's foot a little further into the fire. i see part of this festival will be about food, too. i see that you can download festival info at www.globalsound.org |
Subject: RE: Smithsonian Folk Festival June/July 2005 From: Roger in Baltimore Date: 07 Apr 05 - 11:22 AM The price is always right at SFF. There are usually three to five stages with live performances. It is all outside and most of it under tents. You are sure to be able to hear some music from other parts of the world. Parking is nearly impossible, so use the Metro to get there. It can also be very hot in DC that time of year. Roger in Baltimore |
